Well, I did it.  I ran right down that street with my shorts on.  I did my longest run yet, this season.  I was by myself, as my training buddy didn't respond to my texts.  It started out a nice night, 50 degrees, and I was able to catch the sun going down as ran toward downtown.  The skyline was dark as chocolate against the pink and peach night sky.  I ran through the World of Coke Christmas lights and then through Centennial Park.  I also ran by the ice skating rink.  There were a lot of people out and about and it really felt like the holidays.  The Nutcracker is playing at the Fox Theater and I had to dodge theater goers and snow.  Yes, SNOW!  The Georgian Terrace Hotel had a snow machine blowing snow onto their patio and entrance.  I don't know why.

At about mile 7, I started getting really tired and got a chill.  Up until that point I was nice and cozy.  I couldn't get home fast enough.  As I neared the corner of Ponce and Frederica, I saw blue lights flashing.  There was an accident right in front of my building.  They pulled the mangled cars into our drive and it was quite the scene.

Now, done to the nitty gritty.  For Ian's birthday yesterday we did mani pedis.  Yes, you heard me.  We are secure in our manhood and that is what we wanted to do.  Bad idea for me, knowing that I was going to do a long run today.  My supple soft big toes are now killing me.  There is a reason runners let callouses build up on their big toes, protection!  And one last thing that I now remember from training for the half marathon.  Any time I run over 8 miles, I should wear band aids on my nips.  I know, I am training for the Breast Cancer marathon and it might be in poor taste to complain about my nipples, but I am a man after all.

Well, gotta run.  I am sweating like a whore in Church with a $5 trick preaching the sermon.

Peaceful Running!
