Running for a Vote!

Miles 5.10
December Total 5.10
Pace  8:16
Neighborhoods - Poncey Highlands, Midtown, VA Highlands

I hadn't planned on running tonight, but the weather man is calling for a cold rain tomorrow.  I decided to run tonight and in the process, cast my vote for Mayor of Atlanta.  I was about 16 minutes into my run when I made it to the polling station and boy was it hot in there.  I wore my knit hat, cause my ears get cold, and the lady asked me to raise it up so she could see my hair.  I should have taken it off anyway since the poll was in a Church.  Rude!  I hope that when I wake up tomorrow, our new Mayor will be Mary Norwood.

From here on out you may notice that I will use the term, 'give 'em the hand', which means when a vehicle is approaching a crosswalk too fast, I will put my hand out to catch their attention or to push myself off of their hood or bumper.  Well, I had only had two instances tonight that I had to give 'em the hand.

One of my friends, and fellow Frontrunner, cat called me on Highland and I gave him the bird.  Which is not to be confused with 'the hand'.  Totally different.

The highlight of the run, after voting, was running by the Christmas Tree tent on Virginia Avenue across from John Howell Park.  It smelled so frickin' good.  The neighborhoods are coming alive with lights of all colors and decorations galore.

Well, I hope to run tomorrow with Frontrunners, but if it's a cold rain, I will probably not make it.  I love running in the rain, but not a cold one.

Ian and I are going to try and install a counter on my website that counts down the days to the marathon.  Stay tuned for that.

Oh, and to the two large ladies holding hands on Highland, taking up the entire sidewalk, 'HUDDLE UP' girls.

Peaceful Running!
